Donald Allen Daniels

Don was born April 4, 1937, in Texarkana, Arkansas. Don moved to Wallace, Idaho, and attended Kingston High School. He married Janice Daniels and together they shared 52 years of married life until her death in 2013. Don lived in several states during his military service but spent much of his life in Spokane, WA, the place they called home.

Don spent 12 years in the United States Air Force first as a Medical Technician and then as a Ground radio repairman, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant and discharging in 1968 following a tour in Vietnam. Later Don spent 24 years with General Telephone Electronics of the Northwest retiring in 1993 as a COEI Test Engineer. Don believed in his service to Country, God and especially family. His many hobbies included motorcycle traveling, building treasured woodworking gifts, NASCAR, playing on his computer and iPad, recording country music, reading, and all sports/activities especially those played by his family. The invention of the DVR was his best friend.

Surrounded by his loving family, Don passed peacefully into the Lord's hands on March 29, 2015. He was devoted father with many passions, but none more than his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. Don is survived by his son Dan and Linda Daniels, daughter Janell and Mike Plaggerman, daughter Joleen and Doug Uhlenkott, and son Dwayne Daniels and Michelle Shinner. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Derrek and Darcie Daniels, Kara and Cory Plaggerman, Christopher and Jared Uhlenkott, and Cage Daniels. He is survived by one great-grandchild Catherine Daniels. His extended family includes sister Pat Mitchell and sister Frankie and Everett Forsberg. Don's gift of love to family and friends will always be cherished as we celebrate his love for each one of us.

A memorial service and reception is planned for 2:00pm on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Thornhill Valley Funeral Chapel, 1400 S. Pines, Spokane Valley, WA 99206.
